The initial sermon of Jesus, the Sermon on the Mount, is recorded beginning in chapter 5 of the book of Matthew. The beginning of that sermon is a section known as the Beattitudes. Those this portion of scripture is hard to understand and many times misinterpretted and misused, it is one of the greatest portions of Scripture and worthy of our study and consideration.
