Genesis 49:10 states, "The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes; and to Him shall be the obedience of the people." Another of the portraits of the coming Messiah was given during the blessings that Jacob gave to his sons before his death. In the course of his blessing to Judah, Jacob declared that the ruler of Israel would come from Judah. The reign of the Messiah would be with power, peace and prosperity.
